After a competitive pitch, Auckland Airport selected Bullseye as their digital partner to help reposition them as a premier shopping destination. As retail ‘landlords’, Auckland Airport wanted to provide value and help drive business for their retailers.
So successful has this site been, Auckland Airport were awarded two Sitecore Site of the Year Awards in October 2013.
- The challenges
The main challenge was that many customers were unaware of the range and value of duty-free and tax-free shopping at the airport.
Auckland Airport believed that digital would be the primary mechanism to deliver retailers more website engagement, more actual sales, and more trip planning by people arriving and departing from the airport.
- Our solution
A full strategic review was conducted including mapping out the customer journey. From there creative concepts were developed, followed by visual design of key website assets and also promotional assets such as email and display banners.
Going hand in hand with the creative, the right technology was needed. Bullseye together with Auckland Airport believed that a Sitecore CMS would work best, in particular the ability of Sitecore to deliver on-site personalisation with engaging and attractive content directed individually.
- The impact
Interest was sparked and significantly more engaged traffic has been driven to the website. More people are seeing messaging that are most relevant to them. The customer database has notably increased.
